Does having my carpets cleaned make them get dirty quicker?
No. We at Manor House use top qualitiy commercial cleaning equipment and have the knowledge and experience to make sure re-soiling is not a problem.
Should I wait as long as possible before having my carpet cleaned?
No. Dirt is an abrasive – like sand paper. Every time you step on your carpet, you grind dirt into the carpet fibres. This cuts your carpet, just as if you had used a knife, and causes your carpet to wear out faster.
Is the only reason to clean carpets and upholstery to remove the dirt?
No. Outdoor air contains pollens, fungus, bacteria, cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes and hundreds of other chemicals, which are brought in on your hair, skin, clothing and shoes. Not surprisingly, these can end up in your carpet and suite.
Is one method of carpet cleaning as good as another?
No. We feel that there is only one method that gives you a truly deep down clean and that is Hot Water Extraction. Other methods may only give a surface clean.
Will my carpets be left wet after cleaning?
No. Your carpets will be left damp, however, they will dry within a short time, dependant on the carpet/fabric type. We use a cold air blower, where possible, to assist this process.
Should I go for the cheapest carpet cleaner?
No. They will probably be using cheap equipment, with very limited power that will leave behind a sticky residue, therefore not achieving the best results for you, and in the long run it may end up costing you more.
Should I choose a carpet and upholstery cleaner who is not a member of the National Carpet Cleaners Association (NCCA)?
No. If you want to be sure you’re hiring a competent professional make sure they are members of the NCCA. The carpet cleaner must earn this certification through study and completion of formal examinations. Public liability and treatment risk insurance is also a mandatory requirement to become a member.
Should a carpet and upholstery cleaner quote a price over the telephone?

Do all carpet cleaners offer a money back guarantee?
No. They aren’t all confident enough to do so.
Do I have to be in while my carpet/upholstery is cleaned?
No. We clean many peoples carpet and upholstery while they are out at work, or even on holiday.
